Nuclear Radiology Fellowship
The Nuclear Radiology Fellowship is committed to training the future generation of Clinical Nuclear Radiologists, by teaching proficiency and excellence in all diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of Nuclear Medicine with a clinical flavor. The Nuclear Radiology Fellow is expected to attain the understanding and expertise required to manage all types of nuclear medicine patients.
The graduating fellow will be able to be competent in patient care by acquiring the skills required to use and administer radioactive materials. The fellow will learn to administer radionuclide as well as radioimmunotherapies, their clinical indications, the radiation exposure, complications and follow-up of patients. The fellow will also learn all new diagnostic nuclear medicine techniques, including oncologic and non-oncologic hybrid imaging, as well as nuclear cardiac imaging. This training will demonstrate the role of nuclear medicine in multimodality imaging and its benefits. The Clinical Nuclear Radiology fellow will acquire skills in clinical nuclear medicine through time spent in oncology, endocrine and radiation oncology clinics. Research time will also be allotted for completion of a project, to be submitted to a meeting or for manuscript publication.
Nuclear Medicine Department
There are two state of the art GE LYSO PET-CT 16 and 64 slice scanners with time of flight and respiratory gating capabilities. In addition, five dual-head Nuclear Medicine cameras, including a SPECT-CT, and state of the art cardiovascular cameras compliment the clinical Nuclear Medicine and the Nuclear Cardiology Services.
Applications
Applications will be accepted beginning November 1, 2023 through January 1. 2024 for the 2025-2026 academic year, (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026). Applications must be submitted and complete by January 1, 2024. Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted via e-mail.
In accordance with SCARD recommendations, no formal interviews will be conducted before January 8, 2024 and will be completed by March 31, 2024. Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted via e-mail and interviews will be virtual.
