Electrophysiology Fellowship Programs

Montefiore has been making significant strides in electrophysiology for decades

In the 1950s, we performed one of the first transvenous pacing implants. Our center has long been at the forefront of serial electrophysiologic studies (EPS) for tachycardia control, ablation of arrhythmias, and surgical mapping. Supported by the deep knowledge of our Electrophysiology Programs, our fellows go on to become prominent names in their field.

With ample research opportunities and access to state-of-the-art technology, our programs serve as excellent training facilities for the next generation of electrophysiologists. Electrophysiology Program fellows work under our world-renowned electrophysiologists, who are experts in a full range of modern techniques and procedures. With our Albert Einstein College of Medicine, we provide valuable access to a wide range of basic scientists, epidemiologists, and biostatisticians.

Our Electrophysiology Programs offer competitive clinical and research fellowship opportunities for students in the United States and abroad. Below, interested applicants can explore what our Electrophysiology Programs offer and how to apply.

ABIM Electrophysiology Fellowship

Montefiore’s Cardiac Arrhythmia Center offers a competitive ACGME-approved two-year fellowship program in clinical cardiac electrophysiology. Applicants must be residents of the United States and graduates of ACGME-approved cardiology programs (with rare exceptions). Preference is given to fellows with significant hands-on EP lab experience during their cardiovascular (CV) fellowship. As interviews will begin approximately halfway through the CV fellowship, we advise fellows to arrange as much EP exposure as possible beforehand. Two letters of support are mandatory, and applicants must apply through ERAS for an official match starting 2019 for CCEP.

International Electrophysiology Fellowship Program

Montefiore’s Cardiac Arrhythmia Center offers one- to two-year fellowships for cardiologists around the world. Prior to being considered, international applicants must pass the USMLE 1 and 2. As interviews will begin approximately halfway through the CV fellowship, we advise fellows to arrange as much EP exposure as possible beforehand. Two letters of support are mandatory, and applicants must apply directly to chief of electrophysiology.

Research Electrophysiology Fellowship Program

We offer one- to two-year fellowships for physicians with or without prior training in electrophysiology. The applicant should have prior cardiology/electrophysiology experience. We advise applicants to arrange as much EP exposure as possible beforehand. Two letters of support are mandatory, and applicants must apply directly to the chief of electrophysiology.
